YCC TEK's January 2010 debut in Hsinchu Science Park, to begin its mass production


YCC TEK recently announced its high-frequency electrodeless lamp EFL series – a technological innovation of the new-era energy efficient lighting. This is a result from the company’s self research and development, and the mass production will commence starting January next year when the company sets its stand in Hsinchu Science Park.The high-frequency electrodeless EFL lamp does not need the traditional tungsten filaments or electrodes.




HsinchuYCC TEK recently announced its high-frequency electrodeless lamp EFL series – a technological innovation of the new-era energy efficient lighting. This domestically developed product will commence its mass production in January next year in Hsinchu Science Park.

The high-frequency electrodeless lamp EFL does not need traditional tungsten filaments or electrodes. YCC TEK was recommended by Industrial Technology Research Institute to attend the business forum hosted by Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, in this May. In the forum, the announcement of EFL received wide responses, and led to using it by many big institutions including Hsinchu City Government, Tainan City Government, National Tsin Hua University, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Formosa Plastics Group, and Foxconn Technology Group as well as overseas clients in Europe, the U.S., Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Indonesia.

According to YienFon Wei, YCC TEK’s Vice President, the EFL product meets international energy-saving carbon-reducing standards; although its price (ballast included) is 2 to 3 times the price of general mercury and sodium lamps, its service life is from 60,000 to 100,000 hours – approximately 15 years to 20 years, making a single EFL equivalent of 10~20 mercury or sodium lamps, or 120~150 fluorescent lamps or energy-saving lamps, in servicer life; also, luminance of one 100W EFL is as good as a 500W mercury lamp, a 250W sodium lamp, 8 pieces of 40W fluorescent lamps, or 16 pieces of 20W fluorescent lamps. Its energy efficiency can save you electricity bill up to 50%-80%.

The working temperature of EFL lamp is around 50-60, compared with the 500W mercury lamp or 250W sodium lamp (about 300) – it is 250 lower; and compared with the 40W fluorescent lamp, it will be 30 lower. So, when EFL is used indoors, energy saving from air-conditioning can be significant.

YCCTEK EFL is verified by Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and awarded subsidies from SBIR projects. Also, it is chosen as “The best energy-saving and cost efficient lighting product” by ITRI’s energy-saving carbon reducing commission, for recommendation on lighting replacement. It is also qualified for various national CNS tests from Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Bureau of Standards, Taipower company, and Taiwan Electrical Research & Testing Center. Moreover, the product is conferred with registration of certification of indoor lighting and product safety marks as well as international CE and UL certified. The product also holds many ROC and international technological patents. All the above documented certifications have witnessed EFL’s capability of energy saving and carbon reducing, to make its share of contribution to reducing the global temperature for 2.
